People see me today and assume that I've always been fit, but that is not the case. I grew up watching hours of TV a day and eating junk food. My mom noticed the problem and got me into exercise by making me play team sports in school. I was terrible because I was out of shape. I was always picked last in P.E. and always the last player off the bench in any game. This could be seen as a negative experience, but it changed my life. It taught me that to succeed in anything, you need to work hard. Very hard! You need to work hard so that you never have to feel that horrible feeling of being picked last again. Not only was I never picked last again, but I improved every year until I was a top contributor. As an adult, I no longer play sports, but am actively involved in every type of exercise. Strength training, half marathons, obstacle course races, crossfit competitions, yoga, Pilates, etc.
Exercise Philosophy: There's no easy fix. You need to be ready to work hard. If getting in shape was easy, then everyone you know would be in great shape!
Be open to anything. You don’t know what exercises or training techniques you will like unless you try them. When you work out all the time the key is to avoid boredom. If you get bored learn something new.
