Matthew played competitive sports from elementary school all the way through college, He's always had an interest in physical fitness. After graduating with a degree in Exercise Science from Nebraska Wesleyan University, he received the Boren Scholarship to study Public Health and Thai Language in Bangkok, Thailand. It was in Thailand where he also began training in Muay Thai kickboxing as well. 

Upon returning to the states, he continued developing his career in the health and fitness field, working as a Middle/High School Strength and Conditioning Coach and then as a Personal Trainer / Group Fitness Instructor. 

Matthew moved to San Francisco in April 2014 to continue pursuing this career path, and he is very happy with the decision. San Francisco is a great city, and helping others successfully reach their fitness goals is his passion. 

He has experienced working with people from the ages of 12 to 74, from competitive athletes, to weekend warriors, to those who are truly beginners, looking for weight loss, muscle gain or reducing knee or low back pain. 

When he is not involved in health and fitness related activities, you can find him writing music or painting.
